Hello and Welcome !
My name is Amy Driscoll and I live in a small town in Ohio with my husband and my
three boys (Josh ~ 17, Nick ~ 14 and Luke ~ 9).
I've always enjoyed arts and crafts and have tried many different things. I get together once a month with my Mom and my sister for "craft day" in which we do all sorts of crafts.
I started with Tole Painting in 1999 and cut all my own wood for my projects to begin with. I joined The Heart of Ohio Tole Chapter (HOOT) and painted everything and anything. I learned so much.
I always liked polymer clay and started making some whimsical things and really enjoyed the medium. Then one day, I was on Ebay I came across some of the most amazing polymer clay sculpted dolls. I just had to try to make one. I had no idea where to start so I searched the web and bought some books (Katherine Dewey's Sculpting Life-like Animals). I thought I'd better start with something a little easier than people. I loved it! Then searching further I found some amazing DVD's from Patricia Rose. I made a couple mermaids and a fairy...they were terrible....LOL. I decided I couldn't do it, so I quit for 3 years and then, began searching Ebay OOAK's again and just had to try again. So I started again and worked harder and took more time with each one and found that I could do it and with practice and determination, (and with the amazing help from the OOAK Doll Art Forum) have improved. Now there is no stopping me. I love it! It's so incredible to see what comes out of a piece of clay.
If you are interested in buying a piece, please let me know.
